ABGESAGT – Mozartwoche 2021
20 - 24. Januar 2021
Leider werden diese Konzerte wegen der Corona-Pandemie abgesagt.
Although we are aware that our projects in the first half of the year still heavily depend on the restrictions put in place to contain the spread of COVID-19, we are planning to perform two concerts (at 11am and 2.30pm, no interval) at the Salzburg Mozartwoche on 23rd January with Robin Ticciati and Regula Mühlemann. The programme features Mozart’s Mauerische Trauermusik, Exsultate Jubilate and Symphony No. 39.
We are particularly thrilled to work again with Robin Ticciati who has been one of our regular partners for the past few years, and with whom we had taken part in last year’s Mozartwoche, alongside soprano Louise Alder. Following one of our tours together, Robin said: “If part of being a musician is about the daily necessity to re-evaluate the notes we have in front of us, to search with integrity and occasional vulnerability, to quest for the ultimate truth from these wondrous composers in our lives, then the COE makes that journey both possible and joyful. This is just the rehearsal… Add the audience and it is then that this magical group flies in concert with unshackled emotional zeal underpinned by a deep wisdom. Technique is never a barrier and the parasitic effect of ‘routine’ simply doesn’t exist. The COE is all about the music. That comes first. Not an easy thing to achieve. It’s a privilege to work with them.”
It will also be a great pleasure for the Orchestra to work again with Regula Mühlemann who took part in a number of our recordings with Yannick Nézet-Séguin, namely Mozart’s late opera recorded over several seasons for Deutsche Grammophon at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden – Le Nozze di Figaro (2015), La Clemenza di Tito (2017) and The Magic Flute (2018). She also features in our Mendelssohn Symphony cycle, recorded in Paris with Yannick in 2016 (Symphony No. 2 „Lobgesang“).
