Annette Bik, Violin
“Playing in the COE was always a total thrill to me because of all these fantastic musicians! Every single person in this group a fantastic soloist, as well as a superb chamber musician!
I remember the session in Graz, when they all met between two rehearsals to discuss my membership… in the meantime I was walking very nervous through the streets of Graz, waiting for their decision! Well, I was lucky and I became a member!
I had the most exciting time doing the recordings of all Beethoven Symphonies with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, an incredible fulfilling experience I will never forget!
These two years as a member of the COE were a fantastic mixture of top musical experiences and having incredible fun during the rehearsals with lots of silly jokes and fits of laughter!
Hiding the shoes of Roger Norrington, who used to take them off during the rehearsals, to find your violin on your seat after a rehearsal-break with changed strings in the peg-wholes, etc.
I was sad I had to finish my membership because of motherhood… but I still follow this wonderful ensemble as often as possible online!
I wish the COE a wonderful future, stay as you are!!!
